Leaving the Grid is a flowing dream state of unpredictable events: the physical, emotional, and mental upheaval of transitioning to new states.
Directed and animated by RubenFro, the video uses point clouds captured with a set of 360 cameras, rendered in real time in Unity through a custom shader developed for fast, cinematic point-cloud imagery.
The work was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and Best of the Month in April 2020, and was featured in the Screening Room at MUTEK San Francisco Nexus Experience on May 23-24, 2020.
